Brian Scott ran second, followed by Joey Logano, Brian Vickers, and Kevin Harvick.

“It’s Indianapolis. It’s pretty awesome to be able to win here, whether you are driving Nationwide or Cup, sports cars, Formula One, MotoGP, anything,” Busch said after the win. “It’s pretty cool, this place, with the history and all the automobiles that have raced on this surface and the surfaces before it. And all the fans who have been here over the years, it’s awesome.”

Busch briefly lost the lead to Scott after the final restart.  He fell back to third place before a late charge propelled him to a record 59th Nationwide Series win in 259 starts.  He has now won eight of the past 15 Nationwide races he’s driven in.

Scott has never won a Nationwide race, but he’ll settle for a career-best second-place finish.

“I’d give anything to rewind, go back and be able to do it again,” Scott said.  “It’s great to have a second-place finish, but it’s frustrating to be so close and have to sit there and watch the other team celebrate.”

Nationwide Series action shifts to Iowa Speedway on August 3.
