LB Brian Cushing Cleared to Play

(NEW YORK) -- Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing has been cleared to play.
The Texans announced via their twitter account that Cushing, who suffered a season-ending ACL injury last sesaon, received full clearance from Dr. James Andrews to return and will be ready for training camp.
Cushing was injured on Oct. 8 of last year on an illlegal "peel back" block by New York Jets guard Matt Slauson. Slauson was not flagged for the penalty but was later fined $10,000 by the NFL
The 26-year-old Cushing is entering his fifth NFL season. In 2011 Cushing played all 16 games, compiling 114 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and two interceptions.
