Matt Harvey Dominates In Mets’ 5-0 Victory Over the Phillies

Norm Hall/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey picked up right where he left off the first half of the season in the team's 5-0 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon.

Harvey picked up his eighth win of the season after striking out 10 batters while allowing no runs and seven hits over seven innings of work.

Meanwhile, Phillies starter Cliff Lee did not come out of the All-Star break with his best stuff. Lee surrendered five earned runs, including three home runs, over six innings en route to his fourth loss of the season.

The last time both Lee and Harvey pitched was in Citi Field for the All-Star Game this past Tuesday.

Harvey gave up just one hit and struck out three batters in two innings of work in the All-Star Game while Lee gave up an earned run in just one inning of work.

After the win on Sunday, the Mets took two out of three against the Phillies to improve to 43-51. The Phillies drop to 49-50.
