Kenseth pulled away on the last restart to beat out James Buescher and Elliot Sadler to win the Subway Firecracker 250.

Kenseth had the option of choosing a lane or a drafting partner in the end and went with Buescher.

“It didn’t matter who I was pushing or who was pushing me, we couldn’t run with those two,” Kenseth said of Joey Logano and Sam Hornish Jr., who dominated most of the race until late. “But with (Buescher) pushing me, we could. We had speed. So it was important to keep him with me. He did a really good job up getting us up to the lead and putting us in a position to try to win, so I wanted to make sure I stuck with him.”

Kurt Busch finished in fourth, followed by Austin Dillion in fifth.

Regan Smith, who finished in eighth, still leads the points standings by six over Hornish Jr.
