“Carlos Hyde will be suspended for at least the first three games of the 2013 season for conduct not representative of this football program or this university,” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said in the release. “He will be required to fulfill additional obligations before he is allowed to play in a game.”

Hyde will miss games against Buffalo, San Diego State, and California, but could return against Florida A&M on September 21.

The senior running back from Naples, Florida scored 17 touchdowns last season to help the Buckeyes to a 12-0 record. He is expected to pick up right where he left off when he is cleared by the school to return to the field.
