Police Investigating Counterfeiting Ring

(LEWISTON, ID) – Police in northern Idaho are investigating a possible counterfeiting ring in the city of Lewiston. Officials say $10 bills with the same serial number were used at several businesses in the past few weeks. The bills also turned up in Orofino. Counterfeiting is considered a federal offense, and is punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
