Rangers Will Place Darvish on DL
Published atThe move is retroactive to Sunday.
Darvish felt some “fatigue” Monday during a throwing session. The Rangers only expect the 26-year-old to miss one start.
“I don’t think it’s a big issue,” Darvish said. “But just as a precaution. I’d rather skip a start than push it through.”
Darvish has been selected as an All-Star and will attend the game next Tuesday, but he won’t participate.
Darvish has compiled an 8-4 record with a 3.02 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 157 strikeouts this season.
Either Triple-A reliever Ross Wolf or Double-A pitcher Neil Ramirez is expected to make Darvish’s scheduled start on Thursday.
