Red Wings Agree to Terms with Alfredsson

The 40-year-old Alfredsson agreed to a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings Friday.
                                                                        
According to the Detroit Free Press the contract is worth as much as $5.5 million.

Alfredsson has scored 426 goals and compiled 1,108 points during his career. He served as the Senators’ captain since 1999.

The winger from Sweden is a six-time All-Star and won the Calder Trophy (rookie of the year) in 1996.

Alfredsson will once again team up with Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg, who Alfredsson played with on the 2006 Swedish national team that won gold at the Torino Olympic games.
