Winslow Townson/Getty Images(BOSTON) — The Boston Red Sox have reached an agreement with four-time All-Star second baseman Dustin Pedroia on a seven-year contract worth around $100 million, according to ESPN. The deal is contingent on a physical.

The new contract would begin in 2015 and run through the 2021 season. Pedroia’s current contract is for six years and $40.5 million, and ends after the 2014 season.

The Red Sox selected Pedroia in the second round of the 2004 MLB draft. He made his debut in 2006 and took home American League Rookie of the Year honors in 2007. In 2008 he was named the AL Most Valuable Player after hitting .326 with 17 home runs, 83 RBIs and 118 runs.
