Teton Fans Fight Redskin Mascot Change
Published at( DRIGGS , ID ) – Residents living in the Teton School District voiced overwhelming opposition to a plan to change their mascot during a public forum Monday night. Superintendent Monte Woolstenhulme, in cooperation with the Shoshone-Bannock tribes, took it upon himself to change the Redskin mascot, which he and his supporters believe is racist and insensitive. After three hours of public testimony against the plan, Woolstenhulme is still convinced that he’s making the right decision. He and the school board will revisit the issue to determine a proper course of action.
