Timothy Peters Wins NASCAR Truck’s Iowa 200

Jamie Squire/NASCAR via Getty Images(NEWTON, Iowa) -- Defending race champion Timothy Peters won Saturday night’s running of the NASCAR Camping World Truck’s American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway.

Peters took the lead for good after a restart on lap 195 and held off 17-year-old Erik Jones by .225 seconds to capture his sixth career checkered flag.

James Buescher, Ron Hornaday Jr. and 17-year-old Chase Elliot rounded out the top five.

The victory moves Peters from 10th to eighth in the standings, 76 points behind leader Matt Crafton, who finished in sixth.
