Two Admit to Fraudulent Home Loan Application

(POCATELLO, ID) – Two people have admitted to making false statements to federal housing authorities in an effort to secure a home loan.  Thirty-seven-year-old Darin Henecke of Pocatello and 59-year-old Karen Shaw of Chubbuck told officials from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that they were receiving $2,400 in monthly income that in reality wasn’t there. The pair qualified for the loan, and later went into foreclosure, causing the agency to take a major loss. Both individuals face fines of more than $49,000 each and up to a year in prison.
