A-Rod Goes 1-for-4 In Return to Yankees Lineup
Published at(CHICAGO) — Alex Rodriguez went 1-for-4 with a single in his first game for the New York Yankees since last October, Monday night.
Rodriguez played third base and hit cleanup as the Yankees lost to the Chicago White Sox, 8-1.
“I felt ok for the first game,” Rodriguez said. “It was a hard day today — That’s for sure … Felt pretty good. From this moment on I want to focus on baseball.”
Rodriguez had spent the entire season rehabbing from offseason hip surgery.
Earlier in the day, Major League Baseball suspended Rodriguez through the end of the 2014 season for his alleged involvement with a South Florida anti-aging clinic, Biogenesis. Rodriguez’s suspension will begin Thursday but Rodriguez will appeal and will be allowed to play until that appeal is heard.
