In the friendliest category, Charleston, S.C.’s southern hospitality landed the sunny and colorful city the number one slot. Three other southern cities- Savannah, Ga.; Asheville, N.C. and Austin, Texas- also made the top five.

Newark, N.J. topped the charts of the unfriendliest cities. One reader said, “I visited Newark on business and would not recommend this city for anything, except a cheaper/less busy airport to fly into while visiting other cities.”
