Braves 2B Dan Uggla Lands on 15-Day Disabled List
(ATLANTA) -- Atlanta Braves second baseman Dan Uggla has been placed on the 15-day disabled list and will undergo Lasik eye surgery. The Braves called up infielder Tyler Pastronicky from Triple-A Gwinnett to take Uggla’s place on the roster.
The three-time All-Star has been having problems with his vision this season. In June, he was fitted with a different pair of contact lenses in hopes of avoiding eye surgery.
In 112 games this season, Uggla is batting .186 with 21 home runs and 53 RBIs. He has struck out 146 in 388 at-bats.
