Brewers Place 2B Rickie Weeks on DL
Published at(SAN FRANCISCO) — In a tough season already for the Brewers, another one of their key players will be out of action. The Brewers placed second baseman Rickie Weeks on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday.
Weeks injured his left hamstring on Wednesday when he tripped and fell while running out an infield grounder.
“It’s too bad,” Roenicke said. “Because when you have nice ballgames and you’re playing OK, you want to enjoy them. But it seems like there’s something that always comes up.”
The Brewers lineup was slim already after outfielder Ryan Braun was handed his suspension for violating the MLB’s drug policy program. Star pitcher Yovani Gallardo and slugger Aramis Ramirez are also on the DL with respective injuries.
The Brewers currently sit in last place in the NL Central.
