Broadway Legend Julie Harris Dies at 87
Published at(CHATHAM, Mass.) — Actress Julie Harris died at her Chatham, Mass. home on Saturday. She was 87.
The cause of death is unknown, the New York Times reports.
Harris was the most decorated performer in Broadway history.
She won six Tony awards, including a special lifetime achievement award, the New York Times reports.
Harris earned 10 Tony nominations in her career. Her last nomination was for a revival of The Gin Game in 1997.
Harris was not only a star on the stage, but also on the screen.
She was known for her eight-year role on the soap opera Knots Landing in the 1980’s.
Harris also appeared in films, including East of Eden (1955), The Haunting (1963), Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967), and HouseSitter (1992).
