The Tigers’ third baseman hit his 42nd home run of the season in the team’s 11-3 victory over the New York Mets.

Cabrera continued his red-hot hitting on Sunday, as he’s now hit ten home runs in the past 19 games. Not only is he hitting for power, he raised his bating average to a Major League leading .360.

Tigers’ starter Rick Porcello was beneficiary of all the Tigers offense, as he picked up his tenth win of hte season. He gave up three earned runs in 7.0 innings of work.

“It’s a lot of fun to watch,” Porcello said when asked about Cabrera. “You’ve got to remind yourself not to take what he’s done for granted, because he’s just that special of a player and he makes it look so easy day in and day out. But, he’s unbelievable. He’s the best hitter on the planet, hands down.”

Meanwhile, for the Mets, a lone bright spot for the Mets was rookie catcher Travis d’Arnaud. He went 1-3 at the plate, and hit his first Major League home run.
