Cashman talked with the media Sunday before the team’s 9-6 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

“I’m not comfortable talking to Alex about this because we feel we are in a litigious environment,” Cashman said. “Hello and goodbye, that’s about it. I’m not comfortable talking to him anymore. I don’t want to be distorted.”

Rodriguez is currently appealing a 211-game drug suspension. Saturday his attorney, Joe Tacopina, alleged the Yankees didn’t give his client the proper information surrounding his hip injury during last season’s playoffs.

Cashman said he saw Rodriguez on Friday at the team hotel and exchanged hello’s, but that was the extent of their meeting.

In the end, the Rodriguez circus seems to be wearing thin on Cashman.

“Is this a distraction? For me, yes,” he said. “I can’t speak for others but I know it’s definitely a distraction for me. I’ve got a lot of extra work from this stuff. It’s very frustrating.”
