Chiefs’ RB Jamaal Charles Carted Off Field at Practice
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) -- Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamall Charles left practice and was carted off the field on Monday due to a foot strain, reports ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. The X-rays were negative and head coach Andy Reid is calling it a "precautionary" move.
Charles is the key for any type of offensive production this season from the Chiefs, but will be questionable for this Friday's preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Charles missed almost an entire season two years ago with a torn ACL in his left knee.
The Pro-Bowler rushed for 1,509 yards last year and has had three 1,000 yard seasons in three of the past four seasons.
Second-year player Cyrus Gray, Shane Draughn, and rookie Knile Davis are the current running backs on the roster.
