(CLEVELAND) — The Cleveland Indians placed outfielder Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, because of a strained left Achilles. The move is retroactive for Aug. 19.
In 70 games with Cleveland this season, the 32-year-old Raburn is batting .272 with 15 home runs and 41 RBIs in 195 at-bats. He’s in his first year with the Indians, after spending the previous seven seasons with the Detroit Tigers.
To take Raburn’s spot on the roster, Cleveland purchased the contract of outfielder Matt Carson from Triple-A Columbus. With the Clippers, the 32-year-old was batting .252 with 14 homers and 49 RBIs.
