According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, one person was killed and three were injured by the storm. Three more people are still missing.

The victim was identified as 53-year-old John Collins of Teller County, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office reports. Police found Collins’ body buried in debris on Highway 24.

Police say they do not know if Collins left his car by choice or was forced out by the water. The cause of the victim’s death is believed to be drowning, according to the coroner’s office.

Rain lifted homes, damaged buildings, and pushed vehicles off the roads. According to the National Weather Service, 1.3 inches of rain fell in about half an hour in Williams Canyon, leaving the streets of Manitou Springs filled with boulders, trees, and mud.
