Diamondbacks Demote RP David Hernandez To The Minors
(PHOENIX) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks demoted reliever David Hernandez to Triple-A Reno after compiling a record of 4-6 with a 5.59 ERA in 48 games.
In his last appearance against the New York Mets on Saturday, the right-hander allowed two runs on two hits in the eighth inning as the D-Backs lost, 4-1.
Hernandez began his career in 2009 with the Orioles before being dealt in December 2010 to Arizona as part of a trade that sent third baseman Mark Reynolds to Baltimore.
In 2011, he help the Diamondbacks win the National League West division when he went 5-3 with a 3.38 ERA. Last season, he went 2-3 with a 2.50 ERA.
