Coming off the third championship of his career, Wade is itching to get back on the court to begin the Heat’s quest toward a third consecutive title.

“This is going to be a tough year for us,” Wade said on Friday.  “We’re walking into uncharted waters. Right now, we’re the standard team because we’ve been the champions the last two years, so other teams are putting teams together to stop that.”

The Heat lost forward Mike Miller this offseason, but signed center Greg Oden, who has been injury prone his entire career.

“Greg is at the point in his career that he wants to right the ship and get rid of that bug that has bitten him over his career,” Wade said.

Wade battled through bone bruises in his knee last season, but expects to be ready for opening night on Oct. 29 against the Bulls in Miami.
