The D-Backs scored five times in the top of the 18th, with the big blow coming off the bat of Gerardo Parra, who singled home two runs. He finished the game 5-for-9 with three RBIs.

The game ended at 2:12 a.m. and took 7 hours, 6 minutes to play; marking the longest time it took to play a game in franchise history for both teams.

The Phillies began the 18th with outfielder Casper Well (0-1) on the mound. He was replaced with two outs by third baseman John McDonald. D-Backs starting pitcher Trevor Cahill (5-10) pitched four scoreless innings in relief to pick up the victory.
