(NEW YORK) — Muscular Dystrophy weakens the muscles that move the body. More than a quarter million people live with the disease, according to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and it’s just one of many muscle-wasting diseases that can strike at any point in a person’s lifetime.
ABC Health was joined on Tuesday by pop star Paula Abdul, soap star Brandon Barash and Olympic gold medal gymnasts Nadia Comaneci and Bart Conner to talk about the fight against muscle-wasting diseases. The chat was hosted by ABC News’s chief health and medical correspondent, Dr. Richard Besser.
