Fire Near Malad Continues to Burn
(MALAD, ID) – A fire along the Idaho-Utah border south of Malad is keeping residents on high alert. The fire, which was sparked by lightning last Thursday, is not currently threatening any buildings, though the small town of Samaria could be evacuated if high winds and dry weather continue. Authorities believe the fire may continue to burn until the first snowfall. On Monday, about 200 cattle were moved away from the area. The blaze has burned over 15,000 acres, including 5,000 in Idaho.
