The suspect, identified as Erbie Bowser, 44, a member of the Dallas Mavericks all-male dance squad, is being held by police in DeSoto, Texas, about 10 miles from Dallas.

Police said the rampage began when two people were killed and two wounded after gunshots were reported in a Dallas home Wednesday around 10:30 p.m.

Bowser is then accused of travelling to DeSoto, where he is believed to have detonated an explosive device and opened fire, killing two more people and injuring two boys, aged 11 and 13.

Police said they could not confirm the cause of the explosion or the type of device used until an investigation is completed.

Family members identified three of the victims to ABC News affiliate, WFAA-TV.

Toya Smith, 43, and her daughter Tasmia Allen, 17, were killed, according to family.  Smith’s 14-year-old son Storm Malone was injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Relatives said Smith was the suspect’s former girlfriend. The attack on the home in DeSoto is believed to be owned by Bowser’s ex-wife, according to WFAA.

Bowser has not yet appeared in court.
