Giants’ Safety Stevie Brown Tears ACL, Out for the Season
Published at(NEW YORK) — With the season just weeks away, the New York Giants defense has suffered a big loss as safety Stevie Brown will miss the entire 2013 season with a torn ACL.
Brown suffered the injury during the team’s third preseason game against the New York Jets. He forced an interception and during the return, he fell to the ground untouched.
The loss of Brown will be hard to make up for. In his first season with the Giants, Brown become a playmaker all over the field.
In 2012, Brown was second in the NFL with eight interceptions.
“He made a lot of plays for us,” Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said. “So we’ll definitely miss him.”
After spending his rookie year with the Oakland Raiders and his second year with the Indianapolis Colts, Brown seemed to finally find a home with the Giants.
In 2012 he put up career highs in tackles, interceptions, and pass deflections.
