Batting from the cleanup spot, the three-time All-Star went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs, including his second homer of the season off of Padres starter Tyson Ross (2-5).

Yankees starter Ivan Nova (5-4) tossed seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and one walk while striking out eight. Mariano Rivera worked a perfect ninth to earn his 35th save of the season and his 643rd of his career.
