Idaho Wins $28 Million in Pharmaceutical Lawsuit
Published at(BOISE, ID) – The state of Idaho has been awarded $28 million in a lawsuit against several pharmaceutical companies. Attorney General Lawrence Wasden says the companies illegally inflated the prices of certain prescription drugs, overcharging Medicaid in the process. About $13.5 million will go toward federal Medicaid credits, another $7 million will go to the state’s general fund, and the rest will go toward court costs. Wasden hopes the settlement will help protect Gem State taxpayers from future pricing abuses.
