Japan took down The Eastlake Little League All-Starts from Chula Vista.

This was the fifth straight year a team from Japan or California has won the Little League World Series.

With the game tied 4 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Ryusei Hirooka lined what proved to be a game-deciding two-run double to give Japan a 6-4 lead.

Shunpei Takagi also hit two solo home runs in the win.

This was Japan’s fourth straight championship game appearance, and 14th overall. It was their ninth Little League World Series Championship.

Japan truly dominated on their way to victory, and they went through the entire Little League World Series undefeated. But California made them work for Championship number nine.

Meanwhile, this was California’s 23rd Championship Game appearance. They’ve won the whole thing seven times.
