Judge: No Reduction in Sentence for Sparks
( POCATELLO , ID ) – An Idaho judge has denied a motion to reduce the prison sentence of a Pocatello man accused of killing his wife in 2011. Michael Sparks reportedly killed his estranged wife, Judith Sparks, while their children were in the home. He was given a 20-year fixed sentence, and life intermediate for his wife’s death. Judge Stephen Dunn denied a request from Sparks ‘ attorney to reduce the intermediate life sentence to only 10 years, saying his client needed to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Dunn says Sparks may still be eligible for parole after serving 20 years.
