Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony Knows Time Is Running Out to Win

NYK Anthony Carmelo? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1375566210346NBA via New York Knicks(NEW YORK) — A lot has already been made of how New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony can become a free agent after next season. Anthony admits there is a sense of urgency to win in New York now.

Anthony will be entering his 11th season in NBA, but has experienced little postseason success. He’s made it out of the second round only twice.

Despite being one of the best scorers in the NBA right now, Anthony is feeling the pressure to win.

“My window is closing,” Anthony said via Marc Berman of The New York Post. “I’m trying to bring a championship to New York ASAP.”

Anthony was the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, but is the only player from that draft who was picked in the top-5 without a championship.

While he’s still just 29-years-old, Anthony’s time with the Knicks could be coming to an end after this season.

This past season, Anthony led the NBA in scoring at 28.7 points per game.
