(CHALLIS, ID) – Crews are gaining the upper hand while fighting a massive wildfire near Challis. The 20,000-acre Lodgepole Fire ten miles west of the central Idaho community is now 40 percent contained. Officials say they’re still a long way away from getting it contained, however. They expect to continue battling the flames along Darling and Morgan creeks for at least the rest of this week.
