(CHESTERFIELD, ID) – The Mabey Fire south of Chesterfield is nearly out. Authorities say the fire has burned close to 1,200 acres and was over 50 percent contained as of Wednesday evening. The fire, which was started by lightning earlier this week, came close to burning at least two homes and several outbuildings, but crews successfully kept the flames away. Though the blaze remains under control, firefighters will remain on the scene for mop up operations.
