The Canadian postal service recently suspended delivery to Lake Bonavista in Southeast Calgary, when one of its carriers was attacked after wandering too close to a nest.

The Edmonton Journal reports residents began picking up their own mail at a postal facility, and some carriers are resorting to the buddy system — with one supervisor packing a tennis racket just in case.

At the end of the month, the raptors are expected to make their annual migration to South America, meaning the mail carriers can resume their appointed rounds unfettered by the feathered menace.
