After sitting out the first half, he lead the seventh-ranked Aggies to a 52-31 lead over Rice on Saturday.

Manziel sat out the first half of the game due to an “inadvertent” violation of NCAA rules regarding the signing of autographs.

Matt Joeckel got the start for A&M, completing 14 of 19 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown. The team led Rice 28-21 at the half.

And then entered Manziel, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

He showed no signs of rust, as he completed six of eight passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 19 yards on the ground.

But Manziel also made some noise for his conduct between plays. Shortly before his first touchdown pass, he got into the face of a Rice defensive player, who appeared to be mocking Manizel by pretending to sign a football.

As great as he was during his short time on the field, Manziel will likely face scrutiny for after he was thrown out of the game in the fourth quarter for unsportsmanlike conduct after pointing to the scoreboard following a late touchdown pass.
