Tommy John reconstructive surgery has not been ruled out, which would sideline him for a year.

The 24-year-old Harvey felt forearm tenderness after giving up a career-high 13 hits in 6 2/3 innings of work against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. He had been experiencing discomfort for sometime during this season.

A full prognosis will not be made for several weeks until the swelling in his arm has gone down.

The N.L. All-Star is having a banner season, going 9-5 with a 2.27 ERA. He has struck out 191 batters in 178 1/3 innings.
