Budenholzer was released on $1,524.50 bond on Thursday.  Following his arrest, Budenholzer called Hawks general manager Danny Ferry.

“Bud made us aware of the situation last night,” Ferry said in a statement released by the team.

Budenholzer was stopped for having no tail lights, according to the State Patrol.  Trooper J. Nelms said in the report that Budenholzer had bloodshot and watery eyes “and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.”

Budenholzer was hired in the offseason after spending 19 years with the San Antonio Spurs.
