“MONEY Magazine” Ranks Mass. Town as Best Place to Live
(NEW YORK) -- Do you live in Sharon, Mass.? If so, you're a resident of the best small town in America, according to MONEY Magazine.
After analyzing about 1,300 small towns, the magazine ranked the top 50 ones with populations under 50,000, looking at key criteria like good jobs, affordable housing, short commute times, good schools and green spaces.
Sharon topped this year's "Best Places to Live" list partly because of its proximity to jobs in both Boston and Providence. It's also right on the tech corridor.
MONEY reporter Susie Popick says, "The town was actually originally begun as a summer resort, so it's just very beautiful, but it has those key qualities: the schools are great and it's diverse, both ethnically and religiously, and you know, there's a strong sense of community."
Rounding out the top five are Louisville, Colo.; Vienna, Va.; Chanhassen, Minn.; and Sherwood, Ore.
