(NEW YORK) — New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez on Wednesday formally filed his appeal of his 211-game suspension, which will allow him to continue to play until a decision is made by an arbitrator.
The 38-year-old Rodriguez was suspended by Major League Baseball on Monday, along with 12 other players, for violations of the Basic Agreement and its Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The 14-time All-Star made his season debut Monday night against the Chicago White Sox after recovering from off-season hip surgery.
