Nadal Tops Raonic to Win Rogers Cup

Matthew Stockman/Getty Images(MONTREAL) -- Rafael Nadal made quick work of Canada's Milos Raonic 6-2, 6-2 to win the Rogers Cup title Sunday.

Nadal's victory stopped the 22-year-old Raonic from becoming the first Canadian since Roger Bedard in 1955 to win the tournament that was then called the Canadian Open.

The win was Nadal's eighth of the season and third Rogers Cup title of his career.

"I played a great final," Nadal said. "I love this tournament so much and I have unforgettable memories here...I'm very happy. This week has been a dream week for me."

With the win, Nadal will move into third in the world rankings, while Raonic will move from 13th to 10th.
