(POCATELLO, ID) – Pocatello Police have released the name of a man who was arrested after a several-hour standoff Thursday morning. Authorities say 26-year-old Jason Van Orden allegedly battered his wife, but fled the scene before police arrived. He was later located on the 400-block of North 10th Avenue. Van Orden claimed to have a knife and a gun, and held off police and SWAT team members for nearly four hours before he was disabled by a beanbag shot. Van Orden, who suffered self-inflicted knife wounds, was taken to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment before being booked into the Bannock County Jail.
