(NEW YORK) -- Josh Perkins, the No. 24 player in the ESPN 100 class of 2014, announced Saturday he will attend Gonzaga.
Perkins, who ESPN ranks as the No. 6 point guard, chose the Zags over Minnesota and UCLA.
“Coach (Mark) Few and all the coaching staff really showed me that I’m the guy and the one that they really want,” said Perkins. “You have to love who loves you so I’m loving Gonzaga right now.”
As a junior last season at Regis Jesuit High School in Denver, Perkins averaged 25.2 points and 6.5 assists.
He will play his senior year of high school ball at Huntington Prep in West Virginia.
Perkins joins shooting guard Silas Melson as the first two players to commit to Gonzaga's class of 2014.
