Phoenix Suns Forward Michael Beasley Arrested
Published at(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) — Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley was arrested in Scottsdale Tuesday after police found what was believed to be marijuana in his car.
After Beasley was pulled over for a traffic stop, Officer David Pubins said that an officer found found three cigarettes that were suspected to contain marijuana in Beasley’s Mercedes.
The 24-year-old Beasley signed a three-year deal with the Suns last year worth $18 million. He averaged a career-low 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 75 games.
“I realize 10 minutes of feeling good is not really worth putting my life and my career and my legacy in jeopardy,” Beasley said at his Suns press conference a year ago about using marijuana. “So I’m confident to say that that part of my career, that part of my life, is over and won’t be coming back.”
The Miami Heat took Beasley with the No. 2 pick in the 2008 NBA draft. He has also spent time with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
