This new pad, if it does exist, would leave Iran’s two other launch sites dedicated to just launching satellites.

Previously, IHS analysts concluded that Tehran has already developed a solid-fuel missile capable of reaching Israel.

Now, Jeremy Binnie, IHS Jane’s Middle East editor with Jane’s Defence Weekly says Iran could be working on an ICBM that could strike the U.S. or perhaps, “they need a bigger missile to carry the nuclear weapons they are suspected of developing because the bomb design they are working with is too large for their existing Sejjils and Shahabs.”

Yet, IHS Jane’s Assessments Center could not verify with 100 percent accuracy that the new site was meant to test ballistic missiles.
