Steelers’ Plaxico Burress to Undergo Shoulder Surgery
Published at(NEW YORK) — A tough blow for Plax. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress suffered a torn rotator cuff, which could possibly end his season, reports ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.
The team announced on Friday that Burress will undergo shoulder surgery on Monday.
Burress was injured when he landed on his right arm while trying to make a catch over two wide receivers. He was then carted off the field and found later with an arm sling.
Burress signed with the Steelers last season and had three receptions in four games.
The Steelers now have penciled in Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders to be the starting wide receivers on the roster. Jerricho Cotchery is now the third man in line to come off the bench for Pittsburgh.
