Published at(NEW YORK) — Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, the men behind the hit TV series Seinfeld, top Wealth-X’s list of America’s wealthiest comedians.
David and Seinfeld are worth $900 million and $800 million, respectively, according to data from Wealth-X, a net worth intelligence provider. Thanks to off-network syndication deals for Seinfeld, the two have increased their wealth by the millions since the NBC comedy went off the air in 1998. Since then, the show has amassed $3.1 billion in re-runs fees on U.S. TV channels alone.
David edges out Seinfeld thanks to his hit HBO show Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The other three comedians to make the top 5 include late-night talk show host David Letterman at $390 million, The Cosby Show creator Bill Cosby at $360 million, and movie star Adam Sandler, who’s the youngest to make the list, at $290 million.
