Serena Williams Wins Third Rogers Cup Title
(TORONTO) -- The top-ranked female tennis player in the world, Serena Williams, stormed past Sorana Cirstea 6-2, 6-0 to win her third Rogers Cup title Sunday.
Williams wins without dropping a set all week. She has now won eight WTA titles this year, and has only lost only three times in 2013.
"For me it's always about constantly improving and never saying 'I did great and I can be satisfied,'" Williams said. "I did great, but what can I do better? What can I improve on? That's what I always strive for. When I get satisfied, and for a lot of players, the level goes down."
As for Cirstea, this was only the third time she made a WTA final. En route to reaching the final, Cirstea beat Jelena Jankovic and Caroline Wozniacki, both former No. 1 players, as well as Petra Kvitova and Li Na.
"I was a little bit disappointed because I wanted to play better. I knew I could play better. It was mixed feelings out there, you know," Cirstea said. "It's a matter of believing in myself, and I think I have made some great steps in the past weeks."
